Huawei Ideos launched in India this month

A new Android 2.2 smartphone from Huawei will reportedly be launched in India this month. Called the Huawei Ideos, the handset will sport a 2.8 inch QVGA display, but other than that it offers quite a decent set of features, including 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, full Google suite of services, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, and a 3.2MP camera. The Huawei Ideos will become available for 8,000 INR ($178).

The Samsung Google Nexus S is the world’s first Gingerbread (Android 2.3) phone. This phone is now available for pre-order via the Carphone Warehouse. The phone is available for free on 24-month, £35-a-month deals with all of the operators and for £20 ($31) a month you can expect to pay between £219.99 ($347) and £249.99 ($395) for the device. The Samsung Google Nexus S is also available SIM-free for £549.99 ($869). Android 2.3 gives your phone a clean new interface and makes it faster and more intuitive. Stunning 4 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, curved to fit the contours of your hand and face. Speedy 1GHz processor and dedicated GPU for fluid gaming, video streaming and web browsing. The Carphone Warehouse will release the Samsung Google Nexus S on December 20th, 2010.

Acer has just announced the availability of newest android smartphone ‘Acer beTouch E140‘ in Russian market. For your info, this handset has a 2.8-inch 320 x 240 touchscreen display, a 600MHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), an FM tuner, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1300mAh battery and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. Huawei has announced two android smartphones in Australia, the Huawei Ideos X5 and X6. The Huawei Ideos X6 is a high-end device that features a 4.1-inch WVGA capacitive display, HSPA (up to 14.4Mbps), Wi-Fi, GPS, Dolby Mobile surround sound, HDMI port, a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera with HD video recording. Meanwhile, the Huawei Ideos X5 has a 3.8-inch WVGA screen, HSPA, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 5MP camera. Both handsets are powered by the Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

Samsung Epic 4G Android 2.2 Froyo Update

It is reported that Sprint has offered the official Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Samsung Epic 4G in the form of an OTA (over-the-air) update. If you haven’t received it over-the-air, you will be able to manually download and install the update yourself. It is advised to backup all you data before updating the device, just to make sure that no important files are lost during the installation.
